Wildfire causes evacuations near Lake Chelan

LAKE CHELAN, Wash. – Over 750 structures are being threatened by a fire near Lake Chelan.

KING5 reports the 25 Mile Fire has burned over 10,000 acres and has caused authorities to issue evacuation orders advising residents to leave immediately.

The fire started August 15 on the south shore of Lake Chelan and has expanded south and west, burning grass, brush and timber.

The Inciweb website says more than 450 firefighters are battling the fire, with full containment estimated by late October.
