BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Two young men face charges after shots were fired during an argument in downtown Bellingham early Sunday, November 6th.
Police say officers responded to the sound of gunfire on Railroad Avenue near Holly Street just after 1:30 a.m. and saw a gray sedan speeding away.
Other officers conducted a high risk stop of the sedan on King Street and found the driver and passenger in possession of two handguns.
One matched shell casings found at the scene of the shooting, and surveillance video from the area help officers identify the passenger as the man who opened fire.
Lucas Galan and Samuel Vasquez Ventura, both 20 years old and from Everson, face drive-by shooting and weapons charges.
Vasquez Ventura was also found to have been driving while intoxicated.
