The Kraken lost a close one last night on KPUG.

Seattle lost to the New Jersey Devils 2-1 to push their losing streak to six straight games.

Rookie Tye Kartye scored the sole goal of the game for the Kraken.

This six-game losing streak is the longest skid since the team lost seven straight in February 2022.

They’ll look to avoid tying that record tomorrow night as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Coverage begins at 6:30 and puck drops at 7 on KGMI.

The Seattle Seahawks are looking to avoid extending a losing streak of their own this weekend.

They’re in the Bay Area playing the San Francisco 49ers for the second time in three weeks.

The Niners have won four straight as they sit three games ahead of the Seahawks atop the NFC West division.

Meanwhile, Seattle has lost three straight games this season and four straight against the Niners in the last year.

Coverage begins at 11 am and kickoff is at 1:05 Sunday on KPUG.

Big day for Michael Penix Jr. tomorrow.

He’s one of four finalists for the Heisman award.

Jaden Daniels won the AP’s college football player of the year award yesterday.

That’s proved to be a major indicator of who wins the Heisman.

Penix is the second Husky ever to be a finalist for the award and will look to be the first to win it.

Also a big day for the Huskies’ basketball team tomorrow.

They play seventh-ranked Gonzaga, who has lost just one game this season to #4 Purdue.

Tip-off is at 8 pm tomorrow on KPUG.

Meanwhile, the Huskies’ women’s team takes on a challenge of their own this weekend.

They’re facing 21st-ranked Washington State on Sunday in the first ranked matchup of their undefeated season so far.

The Western Washington University men’s basketball team also plays this weekend.

The 7-3 Vikings are looking to win their fourth straight as they host Langara at 3 pm tomorrow.

They’re offering free admission to the game for anyone who brings a toy or food to donate.

Running down the high school basketball scoreboard from last night in Whatcom County…

The Lynden boys beat Lakewood 57-43, their girls team one-upped them with a 69-20 blowout of Lakewood.

The Squalicum boys edged Ferndale 57-49, but the Ferndale girls evened the score with a 53-34 win over Squalicum.

The Sehome boys trumped Meridian 79-68 in a cross-town match, the Sehome girls backed it up with a 45-35 win over Meridian.

And the Blaine girls finished off the slate with a 58-23 dusting of Cascade Everett.
