BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A student pilot crashed while landing at Bellingham International Airport yesterday afternoon.
The pilot was the only person onboard the aircraft at the time and wasn’t hurt.
Aviation reporter Jeffrey Lustick said the student from Paine Field in Everett was on a solo cross-country flight as part of his training.
He misjudged his speed, hit the runway hard and the plane flipped on its back.
The plane is thought to be a total loss.
