BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A fire in a storage unit behind the building formerly occupied by the Up Front Theater did little damage.

The fire flared just after 5 p.m. on Monday, August 7th, in an alley behind the building at Bay and Chestnut in downtown Bellingham.

Everyone was safely evacuated, and fire crews quickly put out the fire and ventilated smoke out of the building.

Several businesses currently occupy the building and owners said they do not expect the fire to interrupt their operations.
