BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Port of Bellingham has submitted an updated waterfront development master plan to the city.
The original plan drawn up in 2013 calls for 33 acres of parks and trails and 6 acres of restored beaches.
The Port says the updated plan would change the layout of roads and parks in the redeveloped waterfront to improve public access.
The Port prepared the plan along with developer Harcourt and input from city staff and the public.
There will be public hearings in coming months as the city considers the updated plan.
