Pierce County animal sanctuary seeking donations to care for pigs

ROY, Wash. – An animal sanctuary in Pierce County is asking for help caring for dozens of pigs they rescued from deplorable conditions.

Heartwood Haven near the town of Roy rescued 71 pigs from what they call “an inhumane cruelty situation.”

KOMO reports the sanctuary is hoping to raise $35,000 online to help pay for the animals’ care and rehabilitation.

The pigs can also be adopted.
