Mount Vernon woman injured in suspected DUI accident on I-5

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Mount Vernon woman is accused of driving on a suspended license and DUI after crashing on  northbound I-5 crash Thursday afternoon.

The State Patrol reports DUI was a factor when 60-year-old Catherine J. Yarbrough veered off the freeway into a guardrail at milepost 231 in Burlington at around 4pm.

She was airlifted to Harborview for her injuries.

Yarbrough had four passengers from Everett in her car at the time of the crash, including children aged 8, 10, and 17; and a 43-year-old woman.

All four passengers were wearing seatbelts and avoided injury.
