Man sentenced for trying to bring prohibited firearms into Canada

BLAINE, Wash. – A man has been sentenced after attempting to bring several weapons into Canada.

Canada’s Border Services Agency said that the man, Jonathan Ressler, was trying to enter the country at the truck crossing in Blaine on March 19th.

An inspection of his vehicle found two loaded pistols.

One of them is restricted in Canada and the other is prohibited.

Four overcapacity magazines, which are also prohibited, were seized as well.

Ressler, who is a U.S. citizen, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for possessing the loaded firearms and magazines.
