BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Whatcom County Medical Examiner has determined that Kevin Rowe killed his wife Tanya and the couple’s five year old son Benton then committed suicide.
An autopsy determined that Rowe killed his wife and son by cutting their necks then smothered himself with a plastic bag.
The murder/suicide happened sometime Sunday night and the bodies were found in the family’s Cordata neighborhood home Monday afternoon.
Detectives are interviewing family and friends of the Rowes in hopes of understanding why this happened.
Tanya Rowe was well known in the community through her work with Bellingham Schools, Western Washington University and the Bellingham Herald.
