WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The owner says a favorite local restaurant is not closing permanently.

A mistaken post stating that The Hilltop Restaurant on the Guide Meridian is closing permanently due to the pandemic shutdown was widely shared on social media.

But owner Tom Kilpatrick tells KGMI that isn’t true.

He says they have temporarily halted dine-in and take-out orders but their catering business is still in operation.

They intend to re-open the restaurant when they can and will remain a fixture in the community.
