WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Damage assessments by local and state experts began Monday, November 22nd, and will continue through Wednesday, November 24th, in areas affected by the flood.

Teams are gathering data that will be used to justify a request for a federal Individual Assistance Declaration from FEMA.

They’re collecting information on both structural damage and loss of personal property.

Residents don’t have to meet with the teams but should be aware that they’ll be on and around affected properties.

If you’re not sure if your property has been assessed or if you haven’t yet reported damage, call 360-788-5311 and leave detailed information including your name, address, a call-back number, and description of the damage.

An assessment team member will contact you at the number you provide.
