FERNDALE, Wash. – A Ferndale woman is headed to federal prison for selling counterfeit luxury goods online.

The U.S. Attorney in Seattle says federal law enforcement and the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office teamed up to investigate Kara Suneva Allen’s business “Keepin’ Up With Kara” LLC.

Her website advertised hundreds of items claiming to be from a host of luxury brands including Cartier, Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada and many more.

Investigators seized shipments destined for her company from China and Hong Kong that contained counterfeit handbags, wallets, jewelry and other counterfeit items.

The investigation found that her company acquired, attempted to acquire, or sold more than $185,000 worth of fake merchandise in 2021 and 2022.

Allen pleaded guilty to trafficking counterfeit goods last October and has been sentenced to three months in prison followed by three months home confinement.

Prosecutors say an aggravating factor was that investigators warned her that what she was doing was illegal, but she continued to sell fake goods.
