MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The family of a Moses Lake woman missing in Skagit County now believe they won’t find her alive.

Rachel Lakoduk began hiking to a lookout point near Marblemount on October 17th, but never made it to her destination and hasn’t been seen since.

Her mother posted on Facebook Tuesday afternoon that a search team and dog will be out Wednesday  looking for her body, and they are “shocked beyond belief.”

Bad weather hindered the search for Lakoduk and the trail has gotten several feet of snow since she left on the hike.

Her mother asks for privacy at this time.

The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office hasn’t released an official statement on whether they believe this is now a recovery mission, not a rescue.
