BLAINE, Wash. — The I-5 rest area in Custer will be closed for the next two days for maintenance work.

The rest area will be closed from 7:30 AM Wednesday to 5 PM Thursday while crews complete sewer work and seasonal maintenance.

Among other things, crews will be cleaning parking lots and gutters, and repairing roofs and sewers.

The Custer rest area is the final rest area on I-5 before the Canadian border, so travelers headed across the border should use the Bow Hill rest areas north of Burlington while they’re closed.
