Classic Rock Is Still the Most Expensive Music Genre To See In Concert

Summer months mean more concerts, and for classic rock fans that means more money spent. According to a recent study from FinanceBuzz, classic rock is still the most expensive music genre to see live. FinanceBuzz looked at concert industry data for 800 of the top touring acts from 2017 to 2021 and found that the average ticket for a classic rock performance was $119.14. The second most expensive genre was pop, with an average ticket price of $100.65.

Springsteen on Broadway tickets costed more than $450 on average, the highest of any concert in any category. Classic rock ranked 2nd in total ticket sales by genre, generating $3.55 billion in sales. Pop ranked first in total ticket sales, with $5.29 billion.

If you’re hoping to see a classic rock performance this summer you better be ready to pay up!
