BELLINGHAM, WA – The City of Bellingham is asking for the community’s help in planning for a new park.

Bellingham Parks and Rec is seeking name suggestions for a new public park under development in the Cordata Neighborhood.

It will be located just west of Northwest Drive next to Costco.

Its interim name is the “Northwest Neighborhood Park,” but the city says they want something more exciting.

There are currently 28 suggested names, including the Tokitae Memorial Park, Aurora Acres and Kirkland Signature Recreational Area.

Any ideas can be submitted to Engage Bellingham’s website, where people can also vote on play equipment they want at the park.

Voting closes this Friday.
