BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Police have started to clear out the homeless encampment near City Hall and the Central Library.
BPD tweeted they are working to secure the area to allow Bellingham Public Works to clear the encampment.
Streets in the downtown Civic Center area are closed to traffic.
Police ask that the public avoid the area while officers and others assist encampment residents with gathering their belongings, obtain transportation and seek safe shelter.
