PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. – Boeing has sold a significant portion of land at one of its Washington plants.

The Seattle Times reports that 310 acres of land have been sold at their Frederickson facility in Pierce County.

Boeing has owned the undeveloped land for about 30 years.

The $200 million sale is part of Boeing’s initiative to sell off more local properties and consolidate the company’s total real estate by 30% in response to a steep business downturn for the company.

Boeing says the sale will not impact operations at the site.

The Frederickson facility manufactures parts for all Boeing planes and employs 850 workers.
