Bellingham man hit and killed on Guide Meridian

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man was killed after being struck by a car on the Guide Meridian.

The Washington State Patrol says that the 44-year-old Roger Olson was picking up debris from the southbound lane near Smith Road at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, August 26th.

Olson was hit by a car heading south and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, John Wegrich of Bellingham, and his passenger were not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but WSP says that Wegrich was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
