BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham community teamed up with the Disaster Airlift Response Team for a food drive to provide supplies for a regional emergency preparedness drill.
The food drive started August 21st, finishing up this Saturday in time for the exercise.
Northwest Regional Emergency Services Director for the Emergency Volunteer Air Corps Sky Terry said the total amount of goods sent to Jefferson County for the drill was about 5,600 pounds.
1,600 pounds were from Bellingham.
All food went to the Jefferson County Food Bank Association.
