BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Washington’s largest community credit union is finally getting a location in Bellingham.

BECU is setting up shop in the former Crazy Mike’s Video rental shop near Whole Foods on Lakeway Drive.

In a news release, the credit union said establishing the new location is in response to the growing needs of the nearly 7,500 BECU members in Whatcom County who are looking for easier access to banking.

It will have a “tellerless” layout to encourage members to use ATMs, online banking and mobile banking, though there will be employees available to provide one-on-one support.
