Ultimate Fan Cave Rules 2024


From September 6, 2024 – January 3, 2025, listeners can enter the Ultimate Fan Cave by filling out an entry form with their email/Facebook login, name, phone number, gender, zip code and birthdate during registration times. Registration will be open online for select Blue Friday’s, select Blue Friday broadcast events, as well as in person at KISM Seahawks and Monday Night Football watch parties. Blue Friday Registration times are from 6am – 6pm at KISM.com on the following dates listed below. Listeners can also register at select Blue Friday broadcast locations, dates listed below.  And at Seahawks watch parties and Monday Night Football watch parties hosted by KISM, and the dates are listed below for each of those.  Each sponsor will give away a $100 gift card to one listener that registered during the Blue Friday registration time. The winner of the $100 gift card will be randomly chosen from the entrants of the Blue Friday registration. Listeners may enter to win the grand prize one time for each registration period and method. So, each week listeners can either enter during and Blue Friday online registration or in person at a Blue Friday broadcast location as well as the watch parties, but only Blue Friday registrants are eligible for the $100 gift card. The grand prize winner will be randomly chosen and announced on the Brad and John Morning Show Tuesday, January 7, 2025, between the hours of 5:30am – 9:45am. The winner will be randomly drawn and notified accordingly.

One winner will be randomly chosen from each Blue Friday registration slot to receive a $100 gift card from the designated sponsor for that week and that winner will still go in the running for the grand prize of the Ultimate Fan Cave. There will be a total of 18 winners each receiving one $100 gift card from the designated sponsor. ONLY listeners who register on Blue Friday at kism.com or at select Blue Friday broadcast events are eligible to win the weekly $100 gift card. Registrants that sign up at watch parties are ineligible for the $100 weekly prize.

Grand prize winner does not need to be present but must be listening for their name, and must call 360-733-5476 to claim the grand prize.  That winner will win a $5,000 credit to spend as they choose at any or all of the contest sponsors PLUS a 65-inch Samsung 4K HD Smart TV (Model # UN65CU7000F), with a retail value of approximately $578, a kegerator valued at $500 from Kulshan Brewing, a mini fridge valued at $250 and a years’ worth of free car washes from Blue Cow Car Wash located in Anacortes and Mount Vernon with a retail value of $360. This makes a total prize retail value of $6,688. No purchase necessary. Prizes are not transferrable nor redeemable for cash.

Prize value of the gift cards are based on retail value.  The Grand Prize value is based on the amount of credit provided by Cascade Radio Group and the retail value of the prizes.

KISM contests are open to all eligible Washington state residents, age 21 or older, that have not any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one grand prize qualifier per household is allowed. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of KISM, Saga Broadcasting, LLC dba Cascade Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one-hundred-mile radius of the KISM main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

We will make reasonable efforts to award Qualifying Prizes within 30 days after winning.

The Grand Prize will be awarded after the winner has completed all applicable tax forms.  Due to the value of the prize, a W-9 must be completed, and a copy of a Washington State issued ID must be submitted at the Cascade Radio Group offices during regular business hours.  Listener has 30 days after being notified to fill out the paperwork at the Cascade Radio Group offices.  After that date, if the paperwork has not been filled out, the winner will forfeit the prize.  The winner will be issued an embossed letter on KISM letterhead to present at the sponsor of their choice.  Cascade Radio Group will then cut a check directly to the sponsor.

These are the rules governing all contests aired on KISM and on the website, unless otherwise specified. In the following rules, KISM means Saga Broadcasting, LLC, dba Cascade Radio Group and its parent corporation, Saga Communications, Inc. which owns KISM radio:

  5. Prizes awarded are not redeemable for cash. No prize is transferable. No substitution for a prize will be made at the request of winner. KISM reserves the right to substitute a prize of similar value.
  6. All winners of all contests are responsible for all taxes on prize awarded. All winners of a prize valued at $600 or more will be required to complete the appropriate tax forms at the KISM studios prior to claiming prize. All winners will be sent a IRS Form 1099 MISC federal tax form if in one calendar year the prize value of all prizes won exceeds $600.
  7. In the event the winner is subject to or the subject of any order or legal process issued by any governmental agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner (i.e. garnishment, child support order, judgment, lien, and the like), KISM’s delivery of the prize to the official representative of the governmental entity claiming a right to the prize shall be thus deemed as KISM awarding the prize to the winner. KISM shall be entitled to rely in good faith, upon any documents presented by the representative seeking to collect the prize in lieu of the winner. KISM shall not be liable for any claim by any winner for damages incidental thereto.
  8. All KISM contests are open to all eligible residents 18 or over (unless otherwise specified) living within 75 miles of station transmitter(s). Contestants must possess a valid form of identification bearing the picture of the contestant acceptable to KISM that will be presented to KISM and accepted before the prize is awarded. Employees of KISM, its advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the KISM main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
  9. Winners will be expected to claim physical prize(s) at the KISM studios, [2219 Yew Street Rd., Bellingham WA 98229, between 12:00pm – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) within 30 days of being notified that they are winners, unless there is an expiration date on prize, which will be specifically stated.
  10. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Contest is void where prohibited.
  11. KISM reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if any contest rules are violated in any way.
  12. KISM assumes no liability for situations, repairs, or incidents arising from any aspect of any prize awarded in any contest. KISM, its advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees, and immediate families of each are absolved and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from any contest or prize awarded in any contest.
  13. As a licensee of the FCC and a trustee of the public airwaves, KISM reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any contest or promotion (and not award the offered prize) at the discretion of KISM management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant.
  14. KISM reserves the right to amend the rules to any contest at any time. KISM’s decision is always final. In the event any one of the general contest rules which govern all KISM contests contradict with any specific contest term, the specific contest term will control.
  15. For any contest requiring phone entry you must use only the following number unless otherwise specified: 360-733-5476. The person operating the telephone at KISM has the final decision as to who is the winning caller.
  16. KISM shall have no responsibility for contestant’s inability or failure to participate, failure to win or claim any prize based on malfunction or difficulties with telephone, cell phone, texting, email, or internet access, or any other circumstances in any contest beyond KISM’s control.
  17. For any contest involving on-line voting: If an entrant receives irregular votes, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, or other automated means, KISM reserves the right to disqualify the entrant in its sole discretion and/or use another means to determine the winner(s), for example – random selection or appointing a panel of judges.
  18. For any contests involving tickets to live performances or events, winners will need to follow all COVID guidelines and protocols put in place by the concert organizer.
  19. KISM is not responsible for any event cancellations or reschedules.
  20. KISM is not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or act of man or God, lost, late, misdirected, postage-due, unintelligible, returned, undelivered entries or email, or lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections availability, accessibility or traffic congestion, miscommunications, failed computer, network, telephone, satellite or cable hardware or software or lines, or technical failure, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed or misdirected transmissions, computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, or network. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of this contest or website, or act in violation of the official service, as solely determined by the station, will be disqualified. Neither a sponsor nor promotion parties are responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information whether caused by website users, tampering, hacking, or by any of the programming or equipment associated with or used in this contest, and assumes no responsibility for any errors, omissions, deletion, interruption or delay in operation or transmission or communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized website access. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a prize (if any) are provided only by the manufacturer, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty and/or guarantee.
  22. The following are specifically related to E-contests and E-Mail Club promotions on :
    1. All appropriate information in required fields must be entered correctly and completely or you will be disqualified.

    5. Due to the nature of our programs that are heard on-line over the internet, contests may not be heard at all on KISM. Contests heard on the radio station’s internet audio stream may be slightly delayed from the time the contests are heard on the broadcast station, and will be running behind the broadcast signal. Thus, all contests heard on the internet are delayed. This delay can last for as much as 30 seconds or more. This means that when KISM contests are played that require a specific caller to telephone the radio station (such as “Caller number 9 when you hear the sound effect,” or a contest that requires a specific texter to text a key word to our short code of [Insert short code] or other number specified in the contest, such as “98th person to text “win” to [Insert short code] when you hear the sound effect),  listeners to the on-line audio stream may be at a disadvantage in participating over those listeners who hear the contests on-air.
