BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Enrollment at Western Washington University (WWU) is on the rise following a decrease of admissions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The university says that their Fall 2024 incoming class is their sixth largest ever recorded at just over 3000 students.

It adds to a campus population that saw its first and second largest first-year classes entering in 2022 and 2023.

WWU’s Associate VP for Enrollment Management Shelli Soto says that they noticed the uptick this spring for the first time since the pandemic. Despite delays in FAFSA impacting millions of students across the country, over 86% of WWU’s incoming class was able to file through the service.

WWU President Sabah Randhawa praised the new numbers, but added work still needs to be done to keep enrollment levels high in the coming years.
