BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Washington is updating its rail plan and officials want to hear from the public on how best to change that plan.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) says they’re updating the State Rail Plan and are launching a survey starting on Tuesday, April 15 for shaping the long-term vision of the passenger and freight rail plan.

Some goals WSDOT is pursuing with the plan include easing congestion on roadways, strengthening Washington’s economy, reducing emissions and improving safety.

WDSOT is receiving feedback from now through June 24 and will be hosting an online open house during that time.
