WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Whatcom County fentanyl dealer with ties to a Mexican crime organization has been sentenced.

29-year-old Jamie Lopez Laz Cano will spend just over a year and a half in prison for money laundering and drug dealing. He was arrested in September following an investigation by the Whatcom Gang and Drug Task Force.

Roughly 3.5 pounds of fentanyl powder was seized from Lopez Laz Cano’s home and vehicle.

Undercover detectives also witnessed Lopez Laz Cano making numerous international money transfers.

His arrest came about a month after the Gang and Drug Task Force arrested five others suspected of similar drug and money laundering operations.
