BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The subject of a public safety alert in Bellingham over the weekend has been arrested.

Bellingham Police (BPD) asked the public to be on the lookout for 26-year-old Timothy Stovall in connection to a shooting on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

BPD say Stovall got into an argument with a man over a gas payment and shot him in the leg on West Maplewood Avenue. He fled the scene and tossed the gun out onto I-5, which was later recovered.

Officers located Stovall near the area of the crime on Saturday, Feb. 15 but he again attempted to escape on a mini motorcycle.

A pursuit ensued, which included officers chasing him into the median of I-5.

Stovall abandoned the bike after getting off the freeway and was arrested following a foot chase.

He faces numerous charges, including robbery, assault and resisting arrest.
