Two injured following car crash near Lake Samish

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two people were hurt following a crash on I-5 near Bellingham.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) says that two women from British Columbia were travelling north near Nulle Road on Saturday night.

The driver, identified as a 62-year-old woman, fell asleep at the wheel as her car drifted off the road to the left. Her car rolled before coming to a rest in some bushes.

The driver was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

Her passenger, an 85-year-old woman, was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

WSP adds that drugs and alcohol were not factors in this crash.
