BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A section of the South Bay Trail in Bellingham is soon set to close.

The temporary closure affects the portion of the trail running through the Fairhaven Center development south of Taylor Dock, according to the City of Bellingham. The trail could remain closed for up to two years.

An alternate walking route along 11th Street will be in place during construction.

When work is finished, the trail is expected to reopen near its current location.

Trail users should also be aware that separate construction on 10th Street near Taylor Dock may affect travel in that area.
