WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Do you think you have the cutest dog in Whatcom County?

You only have a few days left to prove it in the We Scoop Dog Photo contest.

The City of Bellingham and Whatcom County are hosting the competition to help remind owners to scoop, bag and trash their dog’s poop.

Dog waste can contain pathogens such as bacteria, viruses and parasites that spread disease and harm the environment.

The winning dogs from the contest will be featured in future Public Works ads and their owners will receive a scooping prize pack.

Owners can submit photos of their dog through this Tuesday, Sept. 30, and six winners will be announced on Oct. 10.
