BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Whatcom County fire crew is back after fighting the wildfires that raged through Southern California.

South Whatcom Fire Authority says that their E22 crew was demobilized as of Friday afternoon.

Crewmembers worked grueling 24+ hour shifts on the perimeter of the Palisades Fire to keep the flames from spreading further. Other members of the E22 squad worked to protect various structures and helped clean up damaged areas.

They made their return to Whatcom County on Saturday night.
