BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Port of Bellingham has appointed an Interim Executive Director after the departure of former director Rob Fix.

Tiffany DeSimone will take the reins for the next three to nine months as the Port continues to work on critical projects and search for a new permanent director.

“Tiffany has earned the respect and trust of Port staff, labor partners, and stakeholders across the region,” Commission President Ken Bell said.

DeSimone was born and raised in Whatcom County and has over a decade of experience with the Port. She graduated from Mt. Baker High School and Western Washington University before pursuing a career building connections between government, industry and community.

Most recently, DeSimone oversaw operations at the Bellingham Shipping Terminal, Squalicum Harbor and Blaine Harbor.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the Port parted ways with Rob Fix earlier this month after he had served as the Port’s executive director since 2012.
