12’s fans are gearing up for their first Super Bowl in over a decade this weekend.
The Seahawks are playing the New England Patriots in Santa Clara, CA with a chance to hoist their second-ever Lombardi Trophy.
Both teams finished the regular season with 14-3 records. It will be a battle between MVP runner-up Drake Maye and a historically great Seahawks defense.
Coverage for Super Bowl 60 begins at 9 am on Sunday and kickoff is at 3:30 on KPUG.
A Seahawk was among the big winners from last night’s NFL awards show in San Francisco.
Seattle wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba took home Offensive Player of the Year. He set a Seahawks franchise record with 1,793 receiving yards, which was also the eighth most in any season in NFL history.
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was named league MVP, winning by just a single first-place vote over New England’s Drake Maye. Cleveland’s Miles Garret won Defensive Player of the Year after setting a single-season record with 23 sacks.
And former Seahawk Bobby Wagner was named as the Walter Payton Man of the Year.

The Western women notched their biggest win of the season last night.
They beat 12th nationally ranked Central 66-44 in a beatdown at Carver Gym. Junior guard Joy Haltom led the team with 15 points and Libby Stump added 13 points and 6 assists as the Viks improved to 8-0 this season at Carver.
Western now sits just a game behind Central for first place in the GNAC standings with six games left in the regular season. They’ll look to keep it up tomorrow night when they host Northwest Nazarene at 5:00.
Meanwhile, the Western men fell to Montana State Billings 91-87 after leading by double-digits in the second half.
They’ll look to rebound tomorrow when they face Seattle Pacific on the road in another meeting between former Lynden teammates Anthony Canales and Brant Heppner.

Taking a look at high school basketball scores from last night…
The Lummi Nation boys beat Lopez Island 86-16. The Blackhawks now advance to the district tournament semifinals, where they’ll host Shoreline Christian at 2:00 tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Lummi girls dismantled Shoreline Christian 96-19. They now move on to the district semis, where they’ll host Lopez Island at 12:30 tomorrow afternoon.
In regular season play, the Lynden Christian boys beat Ferndale 80-70.
The LC girls added a 79-37 win over Ferndale.
The Blaine boys lost a 51-50 nail-biter against Sedro-Woolley.
The Blaine girls also fell to Sedro 62-39.
The Mount Baker girls lost to Mount Vernon 50-34.
And the Baker boys also fell to Mount Vernon 57-39.
Coming up tonight, it’s the final day of regular season prep hoops here in Whatcom County.
Our last broadcast before the postseason takes place is at Sehome High School, where the Mariners boys are set to host Burlington-Edison in a match between two of the top teams in the Northwest Conference. The winner will own the #3 seed in the 2A district playoffs next week.
