Seahawks News

The 12’s showed out for the Seahawks’ Super Bowl parade earlier today.

The trophy celebration lasted about 45 minutes at Lumen Field before the team hit the streets of Seattle. City organizers say more than a million people were in attendance, some getting there as early as 2 or 3 am.

Linebacker Ernest Jones IV highlighted the festivities with an expletive-filled rant aimed at all the team’s doubters throughout the season.

The M’s will play their spring training opener in Peoria, AZ next Friday, Feb. 20.

They’ll open their season at home on March 26 against the Cleveland Guardians.

Seattle will look to build on one of its most successful seasons in franchise history after coming mere outs away from its first-ever World Series appearance.

Winter Olympics News

The United States is moving up the ranks as we continue the first week of the Winter Olympics.

The US is currently up to No. 3 in the world with 12 total medals, just one behind Italy and Norway, who are tied for first place.

Jordan Stolz helped the effort earlier today by breaking an Olympics record in the men’s 1,000 meter speed-skating event.

The 21-year-old didn’t reach his own world record that he set in January 2024, but it was enough to earn the US its 4th gold of the games.

The US men’s ice hockey team is gearing up for its first match of the Olympics, taking place at 12:10 tomorrow afternoon against Latvia.

NBA News

A former Huskies basketball star just received a big punishment from the NBA.

The league announced today that it’s suspending Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart seven games for his role in a massive brawl that took place between Detroit and Charlotte on Monday.

Three other players involved in the fight didn’t get more than four games apiece. The league says Stewart’s lengthy suspension was based on him leaving the bench area to join the fight on the court and his “repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.”

Stewart made an All-Pac 12 First Team as a freshman with the Huskies before being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft. He’s now the defensive anchor of a Pistons team that owns the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Gonzaga/UW Basketball News

The Gonzaga men notched a big win over their eastern Washington foes last night.

The Zags topped Washington State 83-53 behind 17 points off the bench from former Anacortes standout Davis Fogle. He added 3 steals and 3 blocks to continue a monster freshman season for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, both Huskies basketball teams are in for some tough tests tonight. The Washington women are on the road against 15th nationally ranked Iowa.

And the Huskies men are looking to push their record back up above .500 when they host Penn State. Coverage for that game begins at 7:00 and tipoff is at 7:30 on KPUG.
