It’s a battle for top-dog in the NFC tonight when the Seahawks host the Rams on Thursday Night Football.
The two teams are tied for first place in the conference and their division with identical 11-3 records. But the Rams hold the tiebreaker after edging the Hawks by two points earlier in the season.
Seattle’s looking to avenge that loss and get in pole positioning for a first-round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. But they’ll have to do it without standout left tackle Charles Cross, who’s sitting out with an injury tonight.
The injury bug has bit the Rams too, who are playing without star receiver Davantae Adams.

The Kraken are desperately searching for a win tonight as they kick off their road trip up North. They’re facing the Calgary Flames in the first leg of a four-game excursion.
Seattle’s in the midst of one of its worst stretches ever, having lost three straight and nine of its last 10. After getting off to their best start in franchise history, they now sit just one point above the Canucks for the worst record in the NHL.
Tonight will be a great chance to snap out of their woes, as they face a Flames team that also sits just one point above the Canucks.

Meanwhile, at least one professional hockey team is winning in Seattle.
The Torrent beat the Ottawa Charge last night at Climate Pledge behind two goals in five minutes by Alex Carpenter.
They now improve to 2-1-1 in their inaugural season in the PWHL.
NASCAR News
A retired NASCAR driver from Washington was among seven people who were killed in a plane crash.
A business jet carrying race driver Greg Biffle and his family crashed at an airport in North Carolina earlier today, killing everyone on board. Biffle was on the plane with his wife and two children when it burst into flames while trying to land.
He won more than 50 races across NASCAR’s three circuits.
The NTSB and FAA are investigating the cause of the crash.

Tensions are rising in the WNBA amid negotiations on a new collective bargaining agreement.
The league’s players association announced today that its members have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike “when necessary.”
The biggest sticking point in negotiations between the league and its players is reported to be salary structure and revenue sharing systems. The deadline for them to reach an agreement recently got extended to Jan. 9.
A strike would mark the first labor stoppage of any kind in WNBA history.
