The Mariners couldn’t pull out a win in their rubber match against the Brewers this afternoon. Milwaukee beat Seattle 10-2 for their 12th win in 13 games.
The Brewers scored first on a two-run double in the second inning and the Mariners immediately responded with RBIs by Dom Canzone and Ben Williamson to tie it up. But Milwaukee scored eight unanswered runs between the fourth and seventh innings to take the dominant win.
Luis Castillo gave up six runs, only three of them earned, through five innings in the loss. Newly-called up prospect Brandyn Garcia threw a scoreless ninth inning of relief to give the M’s at least one silver lining.
Cal Raleigh had the day off after launching the decisive home run in last night’s 1-0 win to end the Brewers’ 11-game win streak. It was Big Dumper’s 132nd career home run, tying Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. for the most in a player’s first five seasons in Mariners history.
The Mariners are heading down south tomorrow for the first of a seven-game California road trip. Logan Evans will look to start them off strong in their series opener against the Los Angeles Angels.

Today was the first day of the Seahawks’ 50th training camp. Mike Macdonald will look to guide the team back to the playoffs after narrowly missing the postseason with a 10-7 record last year.
Nearly their entire defense is back, but there’s a lot of new faces on offense after the departures of Geno Smith and DK Metcalf. New offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak will pair with recent additions Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp to try and revive an offense that ranked among the league’s worst last season.

Russell Wilson will remain a starter in 2025. New York Giants coach Brian Daboll confirmed today that Russ will be QB1 heading into the season.
The former Seahawks star signed with the Giants this offseason after leading the Steelers last year. He has plenty of competition for the starting job though, with first-round draft pick Jaxson Dart and veteran Jameis Winston lurking behind him in the depth chart.
Bells News
The Bells are looking to clinch their series against the Lefties tonight after putting on an offensive clinic yesterday.
Bellingham throttled Port Angeles 13-2 in their series opener. The Bells exploded for nine runs in the first inning and All-Star third baseman Nate Kirkpatrick homered twice to lead the way.
They’ll look to win their fourth straight in Game 2 tonight in Port Angeles. First pitch is at 6:35.
Storm News
A Seahawks legend is now a member of the Seattle Storm’s ownership group. The Storm announced today that Bobby Wagner has become the first active NFL player to have equity in a WNBA team.
The Seahawks’ all-time leading tackler is coming off an All-Pro season with the Commanders at the age of 34. He joins a Storm franchise that has been one of the WNBA’s most successful teams, with a league-record four championships.
The news came just after the Storm fell to the Dallas Wings 87-63 last night. Presumptive Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers had 14 points for the 19th straight double-digit game to begin her career. It came against a short-handed Storm team that was missing All-Star Skylar Diggins due to personal reasons.
Seattle led by two at halftime, but Dallas blew the game open in the third quarter, out-scoring the Storm 32-15. Nneka Ogwumike led the team with 22 points in the loss.
The Storm are hitting the road now for tomorrow night’s game against the Chicago Sky.
Kraken News
The Kraken signed forward Kaapo Kakko to a three-year contract today worth about $4.5 million per year. Seattle acquired the 24-year-old Kakko from the Rangers in a trade last December.
He had a career-high 44 points in 79 games last season.
