Mariners News

Mariners fans got some much-needed good news today amid their recent slump. M’s insider Shannon Drayer says Luke Raley will begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma tonight.

Raley has been out since April 28 with an oblique strain. General Manager Justin Hollander has previously said Raley will need at least one week in rehab before he returns to the Mariners. His absence has been felt in the outfield, as the M’s are also without starting right fielder Victor Robles, who isn’t expected to return until at least September.

It comes as the team has gone 1-8 over its past three series and has slid to four games behind the first-place Astros in the division. They’re currently tied with the LA Angels at one game under .500.

The M’s will look to bounce back in their return home tomorrow when they host the Cleveland Guardians for the start of a three-game weekend series. Coverage for tomorrow’s game begins at 6:00 and first pitch is at 7:10 on KGMI.

Bells News

The Bells are looking to secure a series sweep at home tonight. They’re playing the Bend Elks in the final game of their series at Joe Martin Field.

The Bells survived a late-game rally by the Elks in Game 2 last night to take an 8-5 win. The team scored all eight over their runs in the first two innings and starter Devyn Hernandez threw five innings of shutout ball to earn the win. The Elks gave them a scare in the sixth inning when they exploded for five runs, but the Bells’ bullpen finished the job from there.

The Bells now sit atop the North Division with an 8-3 record after securing their fourth-straight series win to open the season. They’ll look to get the brooms out tonight for their last game in Bellingham until next Friday. First pitch is at 6:35.

Storm News

The Storm did what no other team in the WNBA has done this season: beat the Minnesota Lynx. Seattle beat Minnesota 94-84 last night to hand the Lynx their first loss of the year.

Nneka Ogwumike had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Erica Wheeler added 20 points and 9 assists in the win. No. 2 overall pick Dominique Malonga tied her career high of 8 points while shooting 4-5 from the field.

The Storm have won their last three games while halting the Lynx’s nine-game streak. They’re back on the road this weekend for their first-ever matchup against the Golden State Valkyries in their inaugural season.

NHL News

The Stanley Cup Finals continues tonight with Game 4 in Sunrise, FL. The defending champion Panthers will look to take a commanding 3-1 lead, while the Oilers are hoping to even the series up at 2 games apiece.

Florida’s coming off a dominant 6-1 win in Game 3 after a pair of tightly contested contests in the first two games. Tonight’s game gets underway at 5:00.

NBA News

The NBA Finals is heating up after Indiana saw its first Finals win at home in 25 years last night. The Pacers beat the Thunder 116-107 to take a 2-1 series lead.

Tyrese Haliburton nearly posted a triple double with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Second-year guard Bennedict Mathurin added a game-high 27 points off the bench for Indiana.

OKC will look to even the series in Game 4 tomorrow night.  It tips off at 5:30 on KPUG.
