Bells News

The Bells are heading to the North Divisional Championship. Bellingham beat the Wenatchee AppleSox 3-2 in 10 innings last night thanks to a walk off single by Rominic Quiban.

Blake Balsz scored the winning run in a bang-bang play at home plate. It was a fitting end to a tight opening round playoff series where all three games were decided by a single run.

The Bells now advance to the divisional championship, where they’ll travel to Edmonton to face the Riverhawks in a single-game elimination match.

Tomorrow’s game starts at 6:05, you can watch online for free or listen live here.

Mariners News

The Mariners have the day off today after notching another series sweep over the weekend. The M’s took all three games over the Tampa Bay Rays to finish off their homestand and extend their win streak to seven.

Cal Raleigh homered in all three games and currently leads the majors with 45 longballs on the season. He’s now tied with Hall of Famer Johnny Bench for the second most homers by a catcher in a season.

The weekend also featured Ichiro’s jersey retirement ceremony on Saturday and the team’s announcement that it will unveil a statue of him at T-Mobile Park next year to honor the new Hall of Famer.

Seattle now sits just half a game behind the Houston Astros for first place in the AL West. The M’s will look to overtake them this week when they travel to Baltimore for a three-game series against the Orioles.

Coverage for tomorrow’s series opener begins at 2:30 and first pitch is at 3:35 on KPUG.

Storm News

The Storm’s woes continued over the weekend. They fell to the Los Angeles Sparks 94-91 for their fifth-straight loss.

The Sparks’ Dearica Hamby scored seven of their final nine points, including the winning three-point play with 5 seconds left to fuel the win.

The losing streak has Seattle back to a .500 ball club, owning a 16-16 record. They’ll look to rebound on Wednesday night against the Atlanta Dream.

Sounders/Reign News

The Sounders got a big win yesterday. Danny Musovski scored a goal in each half and 18-year-old Snyder Brunell scored in his league debut as the Seattle cruised to a 4-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy. Musovski has already scored a career-high eight times this season.

The Sounders are now unbeaten in their last 10 matches. Next up, they’ll travel to play Minnesota United on Saturday.

The Reign couldn’t find that same success. They lost to the Portland Thorns 4-2 yesterday to snap their four-game unbeaten streak. The Reign will be back next Monday to host the Chicago Stars.
