BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man was arrested in connection to a series of storage unit burglaries in Bellingham.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says a manager at Pan-Tec Mini Storage called police on May 24 after finding a broken lock at the facility.

More than $8,400 worth of items had been stolen from multiple victims during the break-ins.

Murphy says the suspect had a storage unit in the facility and was seen on surveillance video walking near storage units that weren’t his. The footage also showed his vehicle being driven near the units and officers found that his access code was the only one that was used before the thefts.

The 46-year-old suspect now faces charges including burglary, theft, malicious mischief and theft of a firearm, which was among the missing items from the storage units. Officers arrested him early on Wednesday morning after spotting him in a separate mobile home burglary on North Samish Way.

His vehicle was seized and is being searched for stolen property from the storage unit burglaries.
