MOUNT SHUKSAN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The search for a missing climber in the North Cascades National Park has been suspended.

The National Park Service says Parks Rangers and Bellingham Mountain Rescue volunteers who were looking for 42-year-old Daniel Gabriel found human remains near his tent today (Monday).

Gabriel was reported missing after he started his climb up Mount Shuksan last Monday.

He was last known to be travelling on the Fisher Chimney trail towards the summit.

Park officials are working to recover and identify the remains over the next few days.
