BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The summer crabbing season is just around the corner in Bellingham and the San Juans.
The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife announced that crabbing will be open from July 17 through Sept. 29 in Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands.
Crabbing will be allowed five days a week on Thursdays through Mondays. Crabbers are limited to five Dungeness crabs, six red rock crabs and six tanner crabs.
Fish and Wildlife is reminding crabbers that their gear has to be removed from the water by one hour after sunset.
Gear is also not allowed to remain in the water on closed days.
