BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Blaine man was arrested after a high-speed chase with law enforcement ended with a crash into two parked cars.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deb Slater says deputies saw a driver going nearly 50 mph over the speed limit on Bay Road Saturday afternoon. The deputies tried to pull the driver over, but they continued to speed away before jumping the curb onto a sidewalk on Clamdigger Drive.

The driver proceeded to tear through a yard and hit a parked car, which was pushed into another parked vehicle.

Deputies found two bottles of opened alcohol inside the driver’s car.

The 42-year-old suspect was sent to the hospital and later booked into the Whatcom County Jail.
