BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – More people have been arrested for DUIs in Bellingham than the number of days since the start of the new year.

According to Bellingham Police Department (BPD), 29 arrests have been made for driving under the influence in the first 22 days of 2025.

Fortunately, drug dealing and possession arrests have not hit that same threshold.

BPD notes that two people taken into custody on drug charges were found slumped over the wheels of their vehicles, with both engines running during their respective arrests.

In total, 17 people have been cited so far in January for drug possession, while three others face drug distribution charges.
