Bellingham police arrests middle school student for making shooting threats online

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A middle school student in Bellingham has been arrested after making an online threat to shoot up a school.

The Bellingham Police Department (BPD) announced on their Facebook page that they received a tip about the threatening post on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 18.

After investigating, BPD says they developed probable cause to arrest a juvenile male suspect who currently is a student at Kulshan Middle School.

The suspect was booked into Whatcom County Juvenile Detention Center late yesterday evening. BPD credited the swift response to help from the FBI and Bellingham Public Schools.
