BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Though the next couple days are looking drier than our past few weeks, be prepared for rainy and snowy weather this weekend.
The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) says that a series of storm systems will be moving into western Washington beginning late Thursday.
That storm is project to bring wind, rain and eventually mountain snow to the region.
NWS says the likelihood of flooding in regional rivers north of the Skagit Valley is low, but that could change as the weekend approaches.
Additionally, high winds could impact our region late this weekend into Monday, Dec. 8.
The Mount Baker Ski Area is hopeful that a forecasted 40+ inches of snow will fall in the coming days but have no planned opening date as of yet.
