SAVE FREE RADIO - KISM NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Classic Rock 92.9 KISM, along with every music station in the country, is about to be hit with an unfairly large tax that could affect your enjoyment of listening to free radio.
That's right, in the midst of the hardest economic times the North West has ever faced, some members of Congress are attempting to push through another large tax on radio stations that play music.
The author of this legislation is US Congressman John Conyers. And why Mr. Conyers wants to impose this tax is because certain performers and their lobbyists have convinced him that they need more money.
These are the same people that have begged radio for years to play more of their music.
KISM is YOUR station and as such has always been free to listeners and we have never charged artists for airing their music.
The outcome of this tax will result in more radio stations going off the air, harming community organizations that need radio for support, plus additional lost jobs in the radio industry, and here in our hometown.
But you can help.
Congressman Rick Larsen has already made it clear he opposes the bill and we thank him for that.
However we need to lobby our Senate representatives Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell we urge you to contact them and help us to this end.
