Khloe Kardashian’s husband Lamar Odom has checked himself into rehab.

The 33-year-old basketball star was arrested and charged with DUI in Los Angeles on Friday following weeks of speculation surrounding his marriage to Khloe Kardashian and his alleged drug abuse – and now it appears he’s taking action to get clean.

A source tells People.com, “He realized he needs help.”

Odom has admitted to drug use in the past – he violated NBA drug policies in 2001 and spoke candidly of his marijuana use in 2003.

Kardashian has refused to comment about reports suggesting she had led an intervention to prompt her husband to seek help, and that they were living apart at the time of his arrest last week.
