Rocker Richie Sambora has opened up about his feelings for ex-wife Heather Locklear, insisting he still loves the actress.

The Bon Jovi guitarist and Melrose Place star split in 2007 after 13 years of marriage, but Sambora tells People magazine that he still harbors feelings for the mother of his daughter, Ava.

He says, “Time does heal old wounds. I mean, I still love Heather and I know she loves me. She’s the mother of my child, man. What can you say?… My favorite girl – her and my mom, I always say.”

Last month, Sambora and Locklear were spotted on a family vacation together in Hawaii and were all smiles while walking on the beach.

Locklear has recently been linked to plastic surgeon Dr. Marc Mani.
