Latin superstar Gloria Estefan is launching a reality TV search to find the perfect actress to portray her onstage in an upcoming Broadway musical.

The “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You” hitmaker and her husband, Emilio, announced plans to bring the star’s life story to the stage early last year and now the auditioning process is set to begin ahead of the show’s debut in 2015.

Previous reports had suggested Jennifer Lopez and Mexican singer Thalia were in the running to portray Estefan on Broadway, but it appears those rumors are no more as producers of “On Your Feet” are looking for two actresses to play the singer as a teen and in her 20s, and Estefan reveals they will be taking their search across the globe.

The 56-year-old tells the New York Daily News, “It’s going to be daunting, but I have no doubt whatsoever that we are going to be able to do it and (it will be) so much fun to be a part of the processes.”

The show, previously titled “Do That Conga,” will follow the Cuban-American singer’s early years in Miami, Florida and her rise to fame, including her recovery from a career-threatening broken back that she suffered in a near-fatal tour bus accident 1990.
