AP names Jennifer Lawrence 2013’s top entertainer

Actress Jennifer Lawrence has edged out singer Miley Cyrus by one vote to be named 2013’s Entertainer of the Year by editors at The Associated Press.

A total of 70 votes were cast by U.S. staff to determine who had the “most influence” on pop culture in 2013.

Oscar winner Lawrence topped the poll with 15 votes, while Cyrus trailed with 14.

Rounding out the top five were video streaming service Netflix, hit TV series Breaking Bad and Justin Timberlake.

Previous titleholders include Adele, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.
